April 13, 2008--In one of his most intense and yet humble moments, Parker raised his arms in victory while he watched the shot roll halfway down the lane.  He knew it was in the pocket--but would it carry?  When it did, he knew he had turned the result of a fan vote to get him into the competition into one of his most meaningful victories!

Parker won the Motel 6 Roll to Riches competition in the final round, defeating Norm Duke 6 strikes to 5.  Duke, perhaps the tour's hottest bowler at the end of the season, pushed him to the limit, but Parker took the confidence he had built up from the fan vote and used it to win.  "I can't say enough to express my appreciation to the people who voted for me to be there," Parker said via cell phone on Monday.  "If it weren't for my fans, none of this would be possible.  I don't know how to best express my gratitude, but I'll be out there every week, so please tell everyone that I'm so appreciative."
